What sets Mr. Palmer apart is his ability to deliver aggressive courtroom advocacy when necessary, while also recognizing when a more cooperative solution—through mediation or negotiation—can better protect families emotionally and financially.
Extensive Mediation Background
Mediation is at the heart of Mr. Palmer’s professional life. In 1995, before ever attending law school, he became one of the first individuals certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a County Mediator. After relocating to Texas, he served the community through the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center, where he mediated neighborhood, civil, and family disputes.
During law school, he pursued every available course in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), earning top marks in each. In 2001, he traveled throughout India to study the Lok Adalatt system of community mediation, and during this journey, was granted a rare private audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, discussing peaceful conflict resolution in practice.
Today, Mr. Palmer is a Texas Qualified Family Law Mediator and Child Protective Services Mediator, with a 98% resolution success rate across hundreds of divorce, custody, and family cases—including some of the most high-conflict matters. Beyond his own casework, he has helped train new generations of Texas mediators, teaching the skills necessary to guide families toward resolution outside of court.

He is also a frequent speaker, trainer, and mentor on topics of family law, custody litigation, and mediation.
A Personal Perspective
Sean Palmer is not only an experienced divorce attorney and mediator—he has lived the realities that many of his clients face. Having gone through his own high-conflict divorce and custody battle, he understands firsthand the emotional toll, financial strain, and uncertainty that come with family litigation. From the time his daughter was four years old, he raised her as a single father, experiencing both the heavy responsibility and the deep rewards of parenting alone. This personal journey gives him a rare empathy for his clients’ struggles and fuels his determination to secure outcomes that truly protect families and their futures.
Mr. Palmer also knows that there is hope and renewal beyond divorce. Today, he lives with his wife on Galveston Bay, where they are restoring a historic home and building new memories by hosting family and friends. Clients often say they take comfort in knowing that their attorney is not only a skilled advocate, but also someone who has walked in their shoes and come out stronger on the other side.
